The Art of Mandala: Adult Coloring Book Featuring Beautiful Mandalas Designed to Soothe the Soul by Jason Hamilton is I was thrilled to find out that Jason Hamilton has a mandala coloring book out! 50 delightful full page single sided mandalas in a 8.5" x 8.5" square format. From average to fine details and I love ALL the designs. Yes, it is on Create Space paper, so what? Place a piece of heavy paper behind the page you are coloring if you are using alcohol or water markers or even fineliners....also even when using pencils ( to prevent impressions onto the next page). If you want to use wet media, you can copy your page onto cardstock or watercolor paper. (You can copy ONLY for your personal usage.) I have uploaded one picture of the "bookplate" page. I used fineliners ( which are water based....and there was minor bleed through). I will upload with mandala pictures as I color them. Please purchase if you love mandalas like I do. Consider also as a Christmas present for a colorist who loves mandalas. This book will not disappoint

I didn't know what to expect when I saw that this one had such a low price, but it's easily worth a lot more! The quality is excellent and there are so many pages, way more than I expected. The complexity increases throughout the book too, which I've never seen before. Lots of hours of coloring ahead! :D

The Art of Mandala: Adult Coloring Book Featuring Beautiful Mandalas Designed to Soothe the Soul by Jason Hamilton is Okay I searched for heavy weight/stock paper coloring books and this one came up in the list of search results. The listing says 60 pound paper which is Greek to me but assumed that indiciated it was a heavy stock. That is NOT the case. The paper is simply so thin that it makes the coloring book worthless unless you plan to copy the designs to a heavier weight of paper. Even if you put paper behind it to prevent bleed through or showing impressions from pencil, you will still have the problem of the paper simply tearing or developing holes from pressure or if using water colors from moisture. I am not sure why these are listed as coloring books, as they should be listed as patterns to copy books!The designs are in my opinion just so so. I was most interested in the most difficult ones. That being said I found the easier ones in the front of the book to be overly simplistic except perhaps for a child. One would assume if you purchased an adult coloring book you would get adult level of difficulty, with most difficult ones being for very experienced/experts.I have pretty much given up on purchasing these without seeing them in person as there isn't a uniform grading of the papers actual thickness/weight. If I spend hours coloring a page, I don't want it to be so easy to be ruined by the papers inability to handle the purpose for which it was intended to be used.

Each of the 50 mandala designs are unique and beautiful. I like the 8 1/2" by 8 1/2" book size. All mandalas are printed on one side. The only con is choosing which picture to color first.
