NIV, Beautiful Word Bible, Large Print, Leathersoft, Pink: 500 Full-Color Illustrated Verses by Zondervan is This Bible is really beautiful!!! The only problem for me is that I ordered the wrong bible. I was so excited to show my husband what I had bought and was fanning the pages to find the pictures I could color but didn't find any. I thought that was strange because it was supposed to have quite a few of them. So I fanned through it again a little slower. By then he is loosing interest and starting to walk off. So I started thumbing though it much slower--there weren't any coloring pages!!! I was heart broken. I was sure this brand of bible had some illustrations already printed and some ready for the reader to color. I went back to the Amazon page where I ordered it and started reading the description, then looked at other listings for journaling bibles. Then I found my mistake. There are TWO different "Beautiful" bibles. I got the one that only had completed illustrations. The other one is called the "NIV, Beautiful Word Coloring Bible, Hardcover: Hundreds of Verses to Color". I wanted to cry. It's not like I don't already have several NIV bibles--a study bible with footnotes, purse size with such tiny print I can't read it anymore, daily one with sections to read each day of the year, etc. (all worn and well loved).But, this really is a lovely bible. I love the texture and color of the cover; I got some rainbow colored book tabs and they look wonderful with it (even though I can never get them on perfectly). It is "large" print so easy to read. I couldn't bring myself to send it back.The problem is there are so many decisions to make about what is the best bible to buy. The choices are huge: translation version (NIV, NLT, ESV, NKJV, etc.), size of print, type of cover (hard, paperback, leather, leather like, color), audience type (children, teens, adults), how many columns you want, size of margin, note taking lines or no lines, interleaved (an extra blank page inserted between each page for student note taking and now used for Bible Journaling), and on and on. I'm rather new to Bible Journaling so my head is swimming with possibilities,so I can forgive myself for making the mistake; but I am sorry I won't be able to get the one I could color in.So I may never journal in this bible but it would be great for taking to church on Sundays. I would recommend it for anyone wanting a lovely pink softcover updated NIV bible. If someone was interested in a bible for bible study I would recommend the Student NIV since it has wonderful footnotes for greater understanding. The ESV is very popular right now since it is a more recent version of the Revised Standard Version (RSV) but with an American language slant and comes in a single column version great for journaling.

Even if it had NOT arrived damaged, I'd be returning it. Here's why:1. No way is this large print. Not even close. Maybe slightly bigger than regular bible font, but barely noticeable.2. The colorful illustrations looked pretty good in some of the photos posted by customers. In real life, to me, they look cheesy and not great.3. Finally, for some reason the company who made this bible chose to editorialize. They do NOT capitalize He/Him/His when referring to God or Jesus. I don't get offended that easily, but this bothered me. A lot. What is the deal?Anyway, three strikes. It's outta here. Time to look for another birthday gift. :(

NIV, Beautiful Word Bible, Large Print, Leathersoft, Pink: 500 Full-Color Illustrated Verses by Zondervan is I wanted to purchase this Bible last year when it came out, but I needed a larger print. This edition does not disappoint. The type is clear, larger (without being too crazy), and attractive. The Bible cover is much prettier than shown on the picture. Leather-look, soft, and a lot of pretty detail. The inside illustrations are high quality. I got my Bible yesterday and opened it to an illustrated verse that I really needed to read, just at that moment. Thankful for a gorgeous product. I will so enjoy using this Bible.

It's just the right size and it lays open nicely, The cover is soft but durable and will protect it well for years to come.The print is just big enough that I don't need to go look for my "readers"! I also love the graphics and wide margins to make notes or add my own "art."
